Mosasaurus animals & figures
Mosasaurus was a large marine lizard that lived in the early Cretaceous period.
The movable jaw of Mosasaurus contains many sharp teeth. When it wanted to devour prey such as fish and turtles, this dinosaur opened its jaws wide and bit down hard. Due to the shape of its teeth, it probably could not chew, but had to swallow its prey. Over time, its front and hind legs had been transformed into fins as an adaptation to its new environment. It also had a large fin at the front of its tail.
