Lined rainwear for cool, wet days
An additional lining can make playing outside in cold rain and wind more comfortable. This collection includes complete rain suits and separates for spring, autumn and wet mornings. Lined does not always mean thick winter insulation, so check the materials and lining in each product description.
Lined or unlined rainwear?
Unlined rainwear protects against rain and wind; layers underneath provide warmth. Lined styles have an additional inner layer. On milder days, unlined rainwear paired with thermal clothing may be more flexible.
Water column ratings and breathability
A water column rating in millimetres (mm) describes the water pressure a fabric withstands during a test. Taped or welded seams, fastenings and construction also matter. Breathability is about moisture escaping and is not the same as waterproofing. Always compare each product's specifications.
Fit and useful everyday details
Children need enough room to run, crouch and play without excessively long sleeves or legs. Look for a hood, reflectors and adjustable cuffs. Pair with wellies, or browse separate rain jackets and rain trousers. Follow the care label and allow garments to dry thoroughly inside and out.
