Winter jackets on sale

Winter jackets on sale for children – find outerwear for cold days

At House of Kids, you will find winter jackets on sale for babies, toddlers and older children. We have gathered reduced-price winter jackets from our carefully selected range, making it easier for you to find a warm and practical jacket that suits your child and your family's everyday life.

The right winter jacket depends on your child's age, the weather and how the jacket will be used. Does it need to keep your child warm on the way to nursery or school, stand up to playtime at the playground or be suitable for family outings? Pay particular attention to warmth, fit, length and protection from wind and precipitation. You can also explore our range of winter jackets for children if you would like to compare different styles.

What should you look for in winter jackets on sale?

A good winter jacket should suit both your child and the situations it will be used for. A padded jacket with insulating filling is ideal for cold days, while a lighter style may be comfortable during transitional periods or for children who quickly warm up when running and playing.

It can be helpful to consider:

  • Warmth: A jacket with a warm lining and good insulation helps keep your child warm on cold days, including early-morning trips to nursery or school.
  • Wind and weather: Wind-resistant or windproof materials are useful when your child is outside in blustery weather or spending longer periods outdoors.
  • Water resistance: A water-repellent finish is practical in light rain and snow. If the jacket will be used in very wet weather, additional protection may be needed.
  • Fit: There should be enough room for a sweater or warm mid-layer without making the jacket so oversized that it restricts your child's movement.
  • Length and details: A longer back, adjustable hood, comfortable cuffs and practical pockets can make a noticeable difference in everyday use.

Always read the product description for each individual style. This will tell you whether the jacket is waterproof, water-repellent or primarily suited to dry, cold days. That makes it easier to find a style that matches your family's needs.

Winter jackets on sale for nursery, school and play

For children in nursery and preschool, a winter jacket is often worn every day. It needs to keep up from the morning journey to nursery and on to the playground in the afternoon. When a jacket has an easy-to-use zip, comfortable cuffs and a hood that stays in place, it is easier for children to put on and more convenient for adults to manage.

School-age children may benefit from a lighter or simpler winter jacket, especially if they walk or cycle, are active during break times or wear the jacket with several layers. A good fit allows freedom of movement, while a soft lining makes the jacket comfortable to wear throughout the day.

Although young children grow quickly, choosing a winter jacket several sizes too big is not necessarily a good idea. Instead, choose a size that leaves room for an extra layer without making the shoulders and sleeves too long. It is also worth checking the sleeve length when your child stretches their arms forward, to make sure the wrists remain covered.

Materials and comfort in a winter jacket

The materials used in a jacket have a major impact on both comfort and performance. An outer fabric that protects against the wind helps retain warmth, while a soft lining makes the jacket comfortable over your child's clothes. Insulation and padding add warmth, but your child's activity level matters too. A child running around the playground often needs something different from a child sitting still in a pushchair or bike seat.

Look for materials and features that suit the season and the activities the jacket will be used for. A warm winter jacket is ideal during the colder months, while fleece jackets on sale can be worn as a warm mid-layer under outerwear or on their own on milder days. If the weather is often wet, it may also be practical to supplement the jacket with rainwear on sale if the winter jacket is not designed for heavy rain.

Choose a winter jacket according to the season and your child's needs

A winter jacket does not have to handle every situation on its own. Consider when your child will primarily wear it and whether it should function as a warm outer layer or form part of a layering system. On the coldest days, a warm jacket can be combined with wool or another insulating layer underneath. When winter weather is milder, a less heavily padded style will often feel more comfortable.

If you buy a winter jacket on sale out of season, it can be a good idea to think ahead. Measure your child's current outerwear and compare the measurements with the size guide. At the same time, remember that children grow at different rates and that the fit can vary from one style to another.

If your child already has a warm jacket, having an extra one can be useful for changes at nursery, stays with grandparents or days with lots of outdoor play. You can also find more reduced-price styles in our outerwear on sale range.
