Liewood Rainwear

Liewood rainwear for children who will use it again and again

Liewood rainwear is for you if you want children’s rainwear with a focus on function, durability and a calm, timeless look. It is not just a quick fix for a single season, but rainwear that makes sense as a regular part of the wardrobe on wet days at daycare, school and on trips.

What makes Liewood rainwear special is the balance between practical details and simple design that does not quickly feel outdated. The nature-inspired colours are easy to style with the rest of your child’s clothes, while the fit and openings are designed for everyday life, where rainwear often needs to be taken on and off quickly. For many parents, it also matters that materials and production are considered from the very beginning.

When choosing, three things are especially worth keeping in mind: your child’s age, how often the rainwear needs to come on and off during the day, and whether a classic rain jacket or a roomier style suits your child’s needs best. This makes it easier to find Liewood rainwear that will actually be worn.

What makes Liewood rainwear different from other rainwear?

The difference is not only about how it looks. Liewood rainwear is created with the idea that children’s clothing should last for more than one season and ideally be passed on to more than one child. That means it is not enough for it to look good when new. It also needs to work in rainy weather, in active everyday life and after many rounds in the washing machine.

You can feel this in the small choices that make a real difference day to day: openings that make the clothing easier to put on, fits with room for layers underneath and materials chosen with both the weather and more responsible consumption in mind. Liewood also keeps a clean look without large prints or fast-moving trends. This makes the rainwear easier to store, pass on and bring out again season after season.

If you already love the Liewood universe, you can also explore the full selection from Liewood, where the same simple and calm expression runs throughout.

Choose between a Liewood rain jacket and roomier styles

The right style depends a lot on your child’s age and what everyday life looks like. A classic Liewood rain jacket is often a good choice for older children who put outerwear on and take it off themselves and prefer a more classic fit. It works well for school and everyday wear, where rainwear needs to be easy to use with the rest of the outfit.

For younger children, a roomier style or pull-over model can often be the most practical choice. It is easy to put on over clothing and gives good freedom of movement as your child moves between play, the pram, daycare and home.

You can start with your child’s age and needs:

  • Babies and toddlers: wide openings and a more spacious cut make everyday dressing easier.
  • Kindergarten children: good freedom of movement and simple closures are often more important than small details.
  • School children: a classic rain jacket with more shape and a timeless look is often the most versatile choice.

If you are unsure what will work best, it can help to think about the situations the rainwear will be used in. Does it need to come on and off quickly several times a day, or should your child be able to manage most of it independently?

Materials and durability in Liewood rainwear

When rainwear is used again and again, the material matters. Liewood typically works with recycled materials such as recycled polyester, so you get a rain set or rain jacket made for wet weather while also fitting into a more considered approach. For many parents, it is important that responsibility can also be felt in the durability and in the way the clothing is made.

This is also visible in the details. Reinforced areas, sturdy seams and functional zips all help extend the lifespan. This is especially important in rainwear, as wear and tear often appears quickly around openings, shoulders and the places where children move the most.

Liewood’s calm colours also have a practical advantage. The rainwear is easy to combine with undershirts, sweatshirts and other layers in the wardrobe, so it works without requiring too much thought on a busy morning.

How to choose the right size without buying too big

Many parents choose rainwear with a little extra room to grow, and that makes good sense. But if the size is too large, it can be harder for your child to move around in the rainwear. Sleeves that are too long or legs that are too wide can quickly get in the way when your child needs to play, cycle or simply walk to and from daycare.

A little growing room is often fine, especially if there needs to be space for layers underneath. The most important thing is that sleeves, leg length and closures still sit properly, so the rainwear fits well and is easy to use in everyday life. Liewood rainwear works best when the fit is allowed to function as intended.

During the colder, wetter months, layering is often a good solution. Many parents choose wool underwear as the base layer, because it provides a warm and comfortable foundation without adding too much bulk under the rainwear.

Rainwear, wellies and everyday solutions that work together

Liewood rainwear fits easily into your child’s wardrobe all year round. On mild rainy days, a rain jacket can be worn over everyday clothes, and when it gets colder, you can easily build layers underneath so your child can still be outside while staying dry and comfortably warm.

If the rainwear needs to work well in practice, it makes sense to think of it together with the rest of the wardrobe. Rainwear naturally pairs with wellies, so your child is well dressed for daycare days, the school playground and outings in wet weather. The simple colours also make everyday dressing easier, because they blend naturally with other clothes and are not limited to specific outfits.

This makes Liewood rainwear a safe choice if you want to buy fewer pieces that can be used for longer. Explore the selection and find the style that best suits your child’s everyday life.
